A guided French Market tour through the lens of sustainability, connecting you with the vibrant sights, smells and sounds, and introducing you to the ingredients that will take centre stage in our Cooking Workshop, and shared meal
Located in the heart of each town, markets in France are a celebration of locally produced food and a myriad of foodie stories, and still very much a part of daily French life
During a one-hour guided tour, I will introduce you to the stallholders, explain locally produced seasonal and sustainable produce, and highlight the ways in which farming practices affect soil, biodiversity, animal welfare and human health as well as how our food tastes, and its nutrient density
We’ll select the ingredients we will use in the Cooking Workshop and our shared meal, learning both practical tips and the stories behind each product along the way
After the market, we head to the kitchen for a three-hour hands-on cooking workshop, where we prepare a complete seasonal meal to share together.
Recipes are inspired by local French traditions, plant-forward but including well farmed animal proteins where appropriate.
You will learn practical techniques for preparing food that nourishes both body and planet, guided by my experience in food sustainability education and consultancy
