Whether through a day market tour, or a week-long retreat, our goal is to inspire and empower you to experience the power of food with intention
At La Sustainable Table, we invite you to explore food as it was meant to be experienced: seasonal, local, and deeply connected to the land, its people, and the rhythms of nature.
A truly immersive travel experience, that embraces Sustainability. Dive in to French culture, whilst connecting with local producers, and Sustainable farming and food traditions.
Now more than ever, it’s worth pausing to consider where our food comes from. Every fruit or vegetable we choose, every cheese we taste, and every loaf of bread we bring home is part of a larger story, one that touches our own health, the wellbeing of the planet, and the livelihoods of the people who produce it
From the bustling markets of Mirepoix, Carcassonne, and Toulouse to immersive week long retreats in the heart of L’Occitanie, every experience is designed to help you understand the story behind your food and its impact on human, animal, and planetary health.
Through market tours and retreats, we guide people to connect more deeply with their food, explore its origins, and understand the ways we can all make more sustainable choices, no matter where we live.
La Sustainable Table is about slowing down and seeing food through a more conscious lens. Travelling through a region not just as a passer by but with more overt curiosity, taking in the scents, colours, traditions and stories behind how the food of the region has been produced.
It’s an invitation to see food as more than sustenance: as an expression of place, season, and the care taken for land, animals, and ultimately, our own health.
My love affair with France began in school in Australia, where I studied French language, and discovered a deep appreciation for French language, culture and food.
I have always felt an affinity with the European way of life; perhaps a legacy from my Dutch Father. I resonate with their celebration of seasonal food, local producers at bustling markets, and the simple daily pleasures of eating fresh produce and sharing with others.
Whilst living in the UK I spent much time travelling to and exploring France, and even lived in Antibes on the Côte d’Azur for a while.
My professional journey has grown out of my lifelong passion for food and nature. I hold an MBA in Sustainable Food & Agriculture and am a nutrition trained Naturopathic Chef and Sustainability Consultant, working with clients across the full farm to fork food sector
La Sustainable Table is born from a desire to share my knowledge, my travel experiences and love of food with others, and inspiring them to connect with food for their health and their environment
